Is it good to use minoxidil and finasteride together?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been doing some research on hair loss treatments and keep seeing minoxidil and finasteride mentioned together. I know they both work in different ways, but is it actually beneficial to use them at the same time? Has anyone here tried using both, and if so, did you notice better results than just using one? Any side effects from combining them?

Would love to hear your experiences or any advice from those who’ve gone this route. Thanks!

Yes, using minoxidil and finasteride together is a widely recommended combo for treating androgenetic hair loss because they target the problem from different angles. Finasteride inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, reducing the conversion of testosterone into DHT -- the top hormone linked to follicle miniaturization and hair loss. Minoxidil, on the other hand, likely works by opening potassium channels to directly stimulate hair growth, even in isolated follicles without blood supply. It may also upregulate Wnt signaling and beneficial prostaglandins, while helping prevent mitochondrial stress by reducing calcium overload.
Haven't seen any side effects from the combination, only side effects are the same you have to deal with when taking either drug as a standalone.

    Hope that helps!
